Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Particles UI ("we", "us") collects and uses information when you use our website, Particles Studio, API, CLI, and Figma plugin. Effective date: May 21, 2026.

Who we are

Particles UI provides a hosted design token management platform. Our services include the Studio web app (https://studio.particles-ui.com), API (https://api.particles-ui.com), open-source CLI, and Figma Community plugin. This policy applies to all of these products unless a separate notice says otherwise.

Information we collect

Account & identity

When you sign up or sign in, we collect information such as your name, email address, and profile details from your account provider (email magic link, GitHub, or Google OAuth). We assign internal user and organization identifiers to operate multi-tenant workspaces.

Design token & project data

You and your team submit content you choose to store in Particles: design tokens, themes, branches, commit history, token requests, releases, accessibility pairings, webhook configurations, and related metadata. This is stored to provide the service to your organization.

Figma plugin

If you use our Figma plugin, we process authentication tokens on your device and, when you Push changes, variable values read from Figma Local Variables that you confirm for sync. We do not upload your entire Figma file or unrelated layer data during Pull. See our Security page for more detail.

Usage & technical data

We collect standard technical information when you use our services: IP address, browser or client type, request timestamps, and error logs. We use this to operate, secure, and improve the platform.

Billing

Paid plans are processed by Stripe. We receive subscription status, plan tier, seat counts, and billing identifiers from Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.

How we use information

We use collected information to:

Provide and maintain the service; authenticate users and enforce organization roles; sync tokens between Studio, API, CLI, and Figma; process subscriptions; send transactional messages (e.g. magic links, invitations); detect abuse and security incidents; comply with legal obligations; and improve reliability and features.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your design token content for advertising or to train third-party machine learning models.

How we share information

We may share information with:

Your organization. Other members of your Particles organization can access projects and tokens according to their role (Designer, Developer, Admin).

Service providers. Infrastructure hosts, database providers, email delivery (e.g. Resend), payment processing (Stripe), and OAuth identity providers (GitHub, Google) process data on our behalf under contractual obligations appropriate to their role.

Legal & safety. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to investigate fraud or abuse.

Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, user information may transfer as part of that transaction with notice where required by law.

Retention

We retain account and project data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account or organization, we delete or anonymize associated data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records for legal, security, or billing purposes.

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact privacy@particles-ui.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

You can sign out of the Figma plugin or Studio to clear local session data on your device. Organization admins can manage members and roles in Studio settings.

International transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Children

Our services are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date. Material changes may be communicated by email or in-product notice where appropriate.
